Know More About Your Water Supply and Sewerage Systems
Dependable and reliable availability of good quality drinking water supply is an essential requirement for any urban dwelling unit. The developers of Shikhar-M/s CHPL- had initially made arrangements for supply of underground water to the apartments from 3 Nos of captive tube wells located inside the Shikhar premises. However, as the occupancy of apartments increased, there had been scarcity of underground water during the summer months.
The SCOA is thankful to the Bhilai Municipal Corporation, who responded positively to the request of your association, in making prompt actions to sanction water supply from the newly built drinking water supply system of Bhilai to Shikhar.
Now Shikhar residents have this facility of treated water supply from the BMC effective from May 2009. ( Please see the water supply sanction order of BMC in this page)
WATER IS PRECIOUS- PLEASE DON'T WASTE IT !
If possible, try to understand the water supply system of your apartment building. Please do not waste water by keeping your taps and showers left opened even after usage. Please do not allow your taps and pipes leaking without repairs for long. Help your Society to maintain the 7x24 supply system intact for the benefit of all.
KEEP YOUR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS CLEAN !
IN A MULTI-STORIED APARTMENT COMPLEX LIKE YOUR SHIKHAR, THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM UPKEEP IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR DRAINS CLEAN, FREE FROM SOLID WASTES.
PLEASE DO NOT SPILL SOLID WASTES IN TO THE SEWER PIPES.
INCASE OF ANY CLOGGING OR LEAKS, SPOTTED OUTSIDE YOUR APARTMENT WITHIN THE BUILDING PREMISES, INFORM THE SUPERVISOR OF THE SOCIETY OR THE OFFICE BEARERS FOR RECTIFICATION ACTIONS.
TAKE THE SERVICES OF CASUAL PLUMBERS PERIODICALLY TO KEEP YOUR TAPS AND DRAIN POINTS INSIDE THE APARTMENTS IN GOOD ORDER.

Shikhar draws BMC treated water from the tapping point from the over head concrete tank, located opposite to Appollo-BSR Hospitals adjacent to Smritinagar Street-3. The water is first filled in an underground reservoir of 50,000 litre capacity. This reservoir is located at the north corner of the front open parking area of the building. Hence, the residents may take special care not to park their vehicles over this underground water tank or wash their vehicles here. Besides, they should also not allow their small children to play here unattended as there is some danger of slip in to the tank through the small pipe entry man-hole cover. This tank has high pressure submersible pump installed which pump water to the over head RCC tanks for distribution to the aprtements. There are 4 numbers of over head tanks located at the terrace of Shikhar building, each having a capacity of 25,000 Litres. The operation of filling of all tanks at appropriate times with proper actions for level control, pump operations etc are presently done manually and this work is entrusted to the security staff of your building at present.
